The Hockey Hall Of Fame -- The Vatican of Hockey

Each year over 250,000 make the pilgrimage to the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame. In the heart of Toronto, on Yonge St, the hall of fame holds most of the sacred artifacts of our nations great game. First established in 1943 and moved to its current location in 1993, the Hall of Fame currently has 375 inductees; players, coaches, officials and owners who have been immortalized in the hall. This saint-like honour is very prestigious and is considered one of the greastest recognitious in the sport. The names and photos surround the holy grail of hockey, the Stanley Cup. The cup is the centre piece of the hallowed trophy room, where the games greatest pieces and trophies rest. There is always a hushed silence in this room, as most are over come by the beauty and awe of the room and its "sliverware".

   Hockey, undoubtedly brings Canadians together in a way that no other sport can. This sport is part of national identity. Most feel a pride and passion for our game, which has become our national religion. The Hockey Hall of Fame holds our most bevolved and sacred artifacts which piece together our past in the game we all love. The hall also has the Cup, which each young dreams that his name will be carved on one day, immortalizing them as one of the greats in a nation's great and sacred game.
