Olivier Bauer is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Montreal and teaches a course specifically on the Montreal Canadiens and Religion. Bauer has extensively studied this topic and his web page has quite a bit of information that I will use to examine the Montreal Canadiens, their fan base and implicit religion.

I chose this article for the quotation by Rose Tekel, a former hockey player’s wife and religion professor and St. FX. Tekel mentions that people feel devoted to hockey as a religion without the restraints placed by other religions.

Hockey Ministries International is an organization that combines Christianity with hockey camps as they try to "Reach the world of Hockey, every player, every team, everywhere, with the message of hope found in Jesus Christ."  I chose this site to explain how hockey and religion, specifically Christianity, are interconnected/ interrelated.
